We are getting very close to once again celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ the Savior of the world. We got everything almost ready. The crib is up in the Church. All the figures are there except one: quite appropriately the Christ Child is not yet in the manger. Noting the absence of the infant should get us thinking about life without Christ. We may well wonder how life would be affected if God had not sent his son into the world as our savior! Nothing will be possible! Life will be like a flying bird but without wings!
In God ''nothing is impossible.'' It is this affirmation that should help us get through the struggles of life. We have a God who cares for us, who journeys with us in our difficulties and who is ready to intervene when we need Him most. And what is interesting is his choice to persons to assist Him in this intervention. Here we have Mary, a young virgin, and Joseph her most holy spouse to show us how powerful God is. And this is why we need to rejoice and be free from fear. Because we have a God who never lets his faithful down. Is it difficult for you to believe this? Just surrender your pain, your anxieties and your needs at the feet of God for whom indeed nothing is impossible. ''Note that we cannot form an adequate concept of man unless we include God." He is mysterious, transcendent and ineffable, the eternal principle of the universe. But he watches over us, knows and observes us, penetrates and preserves us unceasingly. He is "Emmanuel, God with us."
Wish you all "Merry Christmas and happy New Year 2023"
